(Athens, Ga.) Barberitos Franchising, Inc. announced the opening of its 29th restaurant location in Asheville, NC. The new store opened September 14, 2012. New franchisees, Timm and Kate Phillips, from the High Point, NC area decided to open a Barberitos location in Asheville after frequenting the Barberitos in High Point. The new store is located at 1856 Hendersonville Rd., Asheville, NC in the Earth Fare Shopping Center. The Southwestern Grille offers alcoholic beverages, free wireless for customers, and outdoor seating. Barberitos Roswell Percentage Day and Guitar Hero Tournament in Support of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

(Athens, Ga.) The Barberitos Roswell location will be hosting a Guitar Hero Tournament on August 24th and a percentage day to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Guitar Hero registration will be form 5:30pm to 6:00pm and the event will take place from 6pm to 9pm. It costs $20 play and all money raised will directly go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Barberitos Healthy Contestants Lost 187 lbs. in 90 Days!

Barberitos launched their 2012 Healthy Campaign in January system-wide to promote weight loss and wellness. The campaign kicked off with an alternative healthy menu and a nutrition calculator added to the website. To show that Barberitos and a healthy lifestyle can be possible, Barberitos featured Jay Lowe, a customer from Thomasville, who lost over 70 lbs. by exercising regularly and eating Barberitos eight times per week for four months. To take this a step further, Barberitos hosted a 90 day Healthy Challenge that provided 7 contestants with eight Barberitos healthy meals per week and a personal trainer that worked with them outdoors twice a week. All of the contestants were able to shed pounds and become healthier from eating Barberitos and working out on a regular basis. The female winner, Emily Wilkins, lost 25.8 lbs. and 15.36% of her body fat. The male winner, Daniel Ford, lost 64.8 lbs. and 23.31% of his body fat. Barberitos Johnson City Gives Away Free Food and Raises $7000

(Athens, Ga.) Barberitos Johnson City served free food for a great cause on May 19th. Barberitos partnered with Rise Up, a local non-profit that works with under resourced kids in the Johnson City area. The May 19th event stemmed from Rise Up! needing a new bus to transport kids from their school to Rise Up’s facility in east Johnson City. Customers on May 19th received a free meal and the opportunity to donate towards “Buying the Bus.” The event was a huge success. The bus was bought outright and an additional $7,000 was raised for the organization. In addition to the free food, there was an inflatable bounce house, live music, and free frozen yogurt from Menchies for all of the donors. Barberitos Soars to 41 Stores!
